I am not doing the drawing meme because I'm pants at drawing in a computer [and pants at drawing at all] and it's no fair to just throw my username there.

I went to the mall to get some stuff I needed and ended up buying a pair of fingerless gloves since mine are all really torn and worn out. These are swede. Hmm x)

It's SO HOT IN TOPEKA LATELY. And the stores are filled with really heavy coats and sweaters and just looking at them makes me suddenly thirsty. Also, I'm in a mindset where I just go "HELL NAW, GURFRIEND" when I see that a pair of jeans cost 40 euros. Needless to say I didn't even spend two minutes in a store.

ON ANOTHER NOTE THAT MIGHT BE OF MORE INTEREST TO YOU, PEOPLE.
I was invited to DJ a runway show! I AM SO EXCITED even though lawl, what, I'm not aiming to be a dj u cressy people.

SO I NEED YOUR HELP because I am not that into the runway scene nor a dweller in electronic and I need runway fitting music. I already asked no I'm not going to say your name you kidnapper to make me a mixtape of songs of her choice, but the more I have, the more I can choose from, aye?

I sort of have an idea, and the managers of the event told me that if I could get some Remixes of indie or somewhat popular songs, it would be ace. Just as long as the rhythm doesn't mix the models strut too much, because apparently that's a big important factor for runway DJing. 8|

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES?

Crystal Castles - Vanished.
MSTRKRFT - Bounce
Doors - People are Strange

Let me have it, people. He didn't care [he never did], trained eyes focused on a couple of familiar faces that weren't familiar at all.
The shine of the material was gone, and so had that of the young military-clad man grinning at him amongst a joyous, boisterous group, as he tried to keep himself standing up straight with the heavy arms on his shoulders.

Suddenly Andel could hear the calm breathing of the man behind him, and the quick work of his fingers on that acrylic keyboard. He couldn't have asked for a better way to sober up from this drugged up hangover.

The weight of his body felt slightly heavier as he stood up, the rubber of his boots sounded ridiculous against the linoleum [wreck. wreck. wreck. wreck everything].

Happily [n]ever after, young Patrick Magnussen's arm was comfortable on its perch. Around the waist of a beautiful, young Jacqueline Moureaux.

AKA, THE FANMIX THAT ATE MY SOUL. oh christ, I'm crazy or what.

Thing is, I was assembling a mixed cd for my next show and I found myself assembling songs that reminded me of Amatsuki. The more I added songs to it, the more I had to relate it to a fanmix, so here it is, for your own listening pleasure. I'LL WARN YOU, I've been roleplaying Kon a whole lot lately [I have a great, even if small, cast, so that helps ♥] and this might have a whole lot of songs that remind me of him, hence it's somewhat Kon-centric. Also, before I did a mini-fanmix of the fandom, so I'll be using those as well, since I'm sticking with them.

Honestly, I don't think I should really call this a fanmix, just a bundle of songs that I gathered and uploaded and try giving them some sort of explanation to their associations in my head. Usually the fanmixes I make are a lot more organized than this.

BUT!
HOPEFULLY YOU'LL LIKE IT!
If you don't, you're very well allowed to put me next to a ditch with a cigarette and a blindfold and get ready to shoot.

So LET'S GO!

AMATSUKI::WHY OH WHY DIDN'T I TAKE THE BLUE PILL?
[whoever gets the reference wins a lollipop]

TOKI: »Toki is a charmer, he's overall friendly to the point of the ridiculous, but there still remains an aloof distance in the back of his head. Forgetting people who were once close is but a natural process in society, and he keeps telling himself in his head that alienation through anonymous masses is a normal state of mind.

The National - Mistaken for Strangers

You have to do it running but you do everything that they ask you to
cause you don't mind seeing yourself in a picture
as long as you look faraway, as long as you look removed
showered and blue-blazered, fill yourself with quarters
showered and blue-blazered, fill yourself with quarters

You get mistaken for strangers by your own friends
when you pass them at night under the silvery, silvery citibank lights
arm in arm in arm and eyes and eyes glazing under
oh you wouldn't want an angel watching over
surprise, surprise they wouldn't wannna watch
another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults

Make up something to believe in your heart of hearts
so you have something to wear on your sleeve of sleeves
so you swear you just saw a feathery woman
carry a blindfolded man through the trees

The White Stripes - You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)

In some respects
I suspect you've got a respectable side
When pushed and pulled and pressured
You seldom run and hide
But it's for someone elses benefit
Not for what you wanna do
Until I realize that you've realized
I'm gonna say these words to you

You don't know what love is
You do as you're told
Just as a child at ten might act
But you're far too old
You're not hopeless or helpless
And I hate to sound cold
But you don't know what love is...
You just do as you're told

I can see your man
Cant help but win
Any problems that may arise
But in his mind there can be no sin
If you never criticize

The Fratellis - Ole Black'n'Blue Eyes

And I can take her dancing just to give the girl a chance
And I was never that good at being nice when I should
I guess that she'll forgive right before she tries to kill me
Cause I sold her on yesterday's

Come take me home eye

I can take the the waltz just so she could kick my head in
I guess her name was Tina cause before I'd even seen her
I was lost in her "what's your name?"

Come take me home eye....eye eye's...
Ole black & Why? Because he hates being bored, and he has the perfect, 10.000 miles per hour mind to keep him entertained and weave him into a net as complex and exciting as the Amatsuki.

The Harrisons - Dear Constable

The kicking punching
Trigger happy car crashing kids
Stink of drink and think
That it is just the way life is
But the problem lies
Behind their eyes
Their young minds
Filled with wicked lies.

The homeless jobless poor un-funded
Single parent packs
Work all day and work like slaves
Just to pay you back
For the price they pay
Grows every day
Just to keep the wolfs at bay

I can see the lies
Dancing in your eyes
You’re not an honest man
You’re not honest man

Who knows where were going
There’s no way of knowing
A funny way of showing
You’re full of false promises

And all were looking for’s a change
The times we’re living in are strange
We need to name and to shame
But who exactly is to blame?

The going nowhere people
Sit behind computer screens
Sapped of all ambition
And they’re robbed of all their dreams
With their zombie like expressions
Staring at the television sets

But now I’ve drawn the line
Believe me man its fine
You’re not an honest man
You’re not honest man

Milburn - Being a Rogue

Your mind is restless,
Because you never rested at all,
All these illusions,
Confuse your thoughts,
You won’t come round,
All that I see is the girl,
Wearing a frown,

Can’t you see I am sincere,
And to believe in all of the stories you hear,
That would be foolish,
You’d be a fool to fear,
What’s their desire,
So I go fuelling the fire.

Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine

Welcome my son, welcome
to the machine.
Where have you been? Kon, at first, panics, and the recklessness took him to places where he finally combusted and mellowed out of his delinquent ways. Toki, in his passivity, tries to make it without it brushing his shoulders, but that only ends up on getting tangled around him. The Unwritten Page is now part of their present and future, and in a way, past, and it's stickier than a chewing gum on your sole.

Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes

Hide your face forever
dream and search forever

Have you ever been for sale ?
when your isms get smart
oh so selfish and mindless
with that comment in your eye

Do you think that you are hard ?
really harder than the other
man you're acting cold
if you are not in charge

Don't split your mentality
without thinking twice
your voice has got no reason
now is the time to face your lies

Open your eyes, open your mind
proud like a god don't pretend to be blind
trapped in yourself, break out instead
beat the machine that works in your head

Will you offer me some tricks
if I ever need them
would you go into that room
if I call 'em

Do you think that you are better
really better than the rest
realize there's a problem
I know that you can give your best

Have you ever had a dream?
or is life just a trip?
a trip without chances
a chance to grow up quick

Open your eyes, open your mind ...

Hide your face forever
dream and search forever
night and night you feel nothing
there's no way outside of my land

Nouvelle Vague - The Killing Moon

Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine

Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him

RESET:»They thought they could win it all. Except somehow, fate doesn't like that idea.

Milburn - The Genius and The Tramp

There are some things that you never want to see
Situations that you struggle to believe
Now you’re older and I am older too
There are some things that you said you’d never do
But we both know that’s not entirely true
You did them, didn’t we do them together?

So where did you go?
What do you know?
You can’t hide your head in the clouds forever
What did we say about drifting away?
We said it won’t happen to us, now we’re too clever
Well I guess we weren’t that clever

Piece is moving, made the picture fall apart
So you take them and go back to the start
Well it leaves you, wondering what you began with
There were chances that you never seemed to take
Opportunities were handed on a plate
So you sit there, waiting for fortune to find you

HOSTILITY:»"This world is coming to an end," says Kon. It's true that they're at the very end of the peaceful Edo Period, where new western navigators and merchants are arriving. The people are suspicious of anything barbarian and foreign, and because of that, both Kon and Toki need to be careful - their knowledge about the modern world leads to a thin path of ice to thread on.

Bloc Party - Hunting For Witches

I am sitting
On the roof of my house
With a shotgun
And a six pack of beer, six pack of beer, six pack of beer.

The newscaster says the enemy's among us
As bombs explode on the 30 bus,
Kill your middle class indecision,
Now is not the time for liberal thought,

So I go hunting for witches
I go hunting for witches
Heads are going to roll
I go hunting for...

90's, optimistic as a teen.
Now its terror
Airplanes crash into towers, into towers, crash into towers.

The Daily Mail says the enemy's among us,
Taking our women and taking our jobs,
All reasonable thought is being drowned out
By the non-stop baying, baying, baying for blood

So I go hunting for witches
I go hunting for witches
Heads are going to roll
I go hunting for...

I was an ordinary man with ordinary desire
I watched TV it informed me
I was an ordinary man with ordinary desire
There must be accountibility

Disparate and misinformed
Fear will keep us all in place

KUCHIHA:»Kuchiha has always been in a place where superstition ruled her world, where she was seen as something dangerous, secret and dark. Yet, there came two guys that become her friends just like. that. And despite Kon's cheekiness and Toki's passiveness, they grow on her, reach to her until the Dog inside her actually learns to accept them.

The Holloways - Sinners and Winners
...hrnh. The passivity there is gone, the aggression and the aloof arrogance, too.
Or... well, it's still there, but each one is just smearing them away for the other as the time goes on, until it's just a thin layer covering them. Until it's totally gone. They support each other, even if it's God who crosses their path, and they don't give up. Kuchiha is reluctant, Kon wanders out of the wall to see what this strange eyepatched kid has to say about him, and Toki keeps trying.

The Holloways - Generator

I can get a record player, and a generator.
Generate the music that makes you feel better.

I don't live in poverty, I got a little bit of money and I've got a healthy body.
I'm not going to let stuff get me upset, and I wont let all the little things get me depressed.

when I was a young boy
I got a stereo
and i taped all the songs straight off the radio.

the sounds that the bands made,
and the melodies

is all I need to make me feel free.

sometimes you get so low, you don't know why,
or a little upset all inside.
May I remind you?
that you don't live in poverty,
you got your youth, and you got food in your belly.

Say Hi To Your Mom - Dimentions and Verticals

Let's say the world was a legal pad
and everything was two dimensional.
But somehow you were the third coordinate
and you were towering over our college rule.
Would you draw me with your pencils and your pens,
make me much prettier than I really am?
And could you draw us with some picture perfect friends if I chipped in for the ink?
Let's say you spilled all your coffee
on us while you weren't looking.
And all our world was stained, awake, and drowned.
And all your doodling looked pretty foul.
Would you draw me air bubbles so I could breathe?
Or at least some chlorophyll making trees?
If I got erased would you even still love me?
Or would you just draw yourself another he?

BONTEN:»AMBIGUOUS TENGU IS AMBIGUOUS AND ~*~FABULOUS~*~. Only lmfao, yeah, major character and plot device here. He's the one that is tugging one side of Toki's strings, and the first to do so and leave a very strong impression. The passive boy will have to deal with a whole world on his shoulders, at the same time offering his allegiance. What will you choose?

Shiny Toy Guns - Stripped

Come with me
Into the trees
Well lay on the grass
And let the hours pass

Take my hand
Come back to the land
Lets get away
Just for one day

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Metropolis
Has nothing on this
You're breathing in fumes
I taste when we kiss

Take my hand
Come back to the land
Where everything's ours
For a few hours

Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone
Let me see you
Stripped down to the bone

Let me hear you
Make decisions
Without your television
Let me hear you speaking
Just for me
Ginshu:»Is another sneaky little thing that beats Bonten at being ambiguous because he doesn't even have a GENDER. He's the one tugging at the other side of Toki's strings, even if he has a tragic past and plans of his own.

Foo Fighters - Everlong

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong

Tonight
I throw myself into
And out of the red, out of her head she sang

Come down
And waste away with me
Down with me

Slow how
You wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head she sang
Chorus-

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again

The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

PAIRINGS:TOHOHOH. The drummer/didjeridoo/whateverhewasHOLDINGatthemoment dude jumped so much on stage that he...

fell into the audience.

And then security was all NOOOOOOOOOO /DRAMATIC JUMP DIVE.
You people, when I ask for concrit, I meant concrit, not endless praise. You people make me wanna hide under the freaking desk, for the chrissake. And it does not HELP ME IMPROVE.

...not that I don't appreciate the praise, on the contrary, but it doesn't help the fact that I'm a perfectionistic MESS when it comes to roleplay.

...okay, make that when it comes to EVERYTHING.

Also, lmfao what, why does my RL timing conveniently draw me away from all things anon memes, drama and whatsits. I can never stop being glad about it. Yet, I think it's precisely that kind of thing that makes me unfit for modship or popularity or anything of the kind. Sure, when people vote me as team captain of something, even though I always point out that I'm not interested in the position, when it's a team where I actually meet people and interact with as a whole, I actually take some of my time and work to be the captain they want me to be [never what I want to be, though. I fly better solo, and the team mates should always know that regardless of me being captain or not, but I'd like to think of myself as not entirely selfish] if they insist [which has, unfortunately, happened]. In the internet, it doesn't work that way. I don't get any references from when or where to start, and honestly most people don't really give me much of a will when I regard them.

The whole "I can't believe I'm working for you RETARDS" kinda feeling, ya know? Which might be entirely superficial of me, but hey, prove me wrong. Not that I don't want to help, but... ah, fuck it.

Got to my parents' place to find out that the housekeeper hung my pajamas in the closet. Usually I fold it under my pillow or something.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who finds that mindboggling. Just... why??

Getting into studying gear again, and the start isn't going well. The engine just won't lock, you know? Which makes my rhythm go slooooooooooooow and me getting distracted every other five minutes. I know with practice I'll get better, but so far, it's infuriating.

I'm feeling like a sniper who can't really find a clear shot because he's too busy taking out the lint from his shirt, and my head is the exasperated Scout that's shouting at him to pay attention through the headphones.. It's all a big asghdfgakhjsdfjaghjd fwqkjahdgjahsgfhjsafgjdha bdjngdbja daxjnfkgkifnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh until I'm keysmashed out.

...enough of my winning. Here's the METAL GEAR SOLID 4 SOUNDTRACK. Which is absolutely amazing, if you ask me.

Personally, my favorites are... almost every single song by Harry Gregson-Williams, there. But:
Love Theme,
Old Snake,
Full Circle
One More Reboot
Desperate Chase,
Midnight Shadow,
White Blood [Raiden's theme, for those who are wondering]
Drebin 893
BB Corps

Are those you should listen to.

Then share what you think with me, yeah?

...lmfao I amuse myself with tags

I know that perhaps you've heard about it, since their debut album dates from 2006, but I can't help but just rec it to people instead of letting the link rot after just sharing it with one person. Here's a band that will certainly call your attention if you're into new things or at least... recycling. They're pretty much one of the most adorable bands there are at the moment, and just the plain idea of a retro group like that wins points from the get-go. I introduce to you...

THE PIPETTES.

What you see there is what you get. An all-female trio of cutesy girls in polka dot dresses and hairbands. These girls shimmy with the handwaves and the "oooooooohs" in the background and bring back the Golden Age of Phil Spector with the girls with the sweaters around their shoulders and the Mini cars and the old James Bond movies that we're now so desperately trying to bring back. In a word? They're dazzling.
Here's the link, and let it speak for myself.

And the whole Badou/Naoto/Haine interactions [MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER, NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT PAIRINGS] pull Zephyr-colored strings at me.

04: do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I never participate in fandoms, damn it. I'm lazy, or when I'm not, I'm too self-conscious to actively do anything, unless someone asks.

05: do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I... think the amount of people in it is pretty good. I don't really want to turn it into a huge fandom, but I wouldn't really blame people if they suddenly get into it.

DEVIL MAY CRY:

01: what got you into this fandom in the first place?
...you're gonna laugh, but I'm going to say my ex. I'm a leech gamer and I never owned a console in my life, so basically what I do is either buy the PC versions [and slaughter my computer with them] or just crash in a friend's place and play with theirs. The whole "going to your place to play videogames" it's also an excuse to hang out with people, anyway.
So... when I was living in Madrid, he brought his brand new 360 and we started playing random shit. One of them was DMC4. I had played DMC3 and DMC1 before in July's place, but I'm not exactly sure why it didn't get me hooked at first glance [or first... game], perhaps having to do with my obsession with FPSs. So after 4, I played the other three again and fell in love with the whole cowboy-esque cheesy MORON that Dante is.

02: do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
It's a lovely, warm and cosy fandom, and with gorgeous works [sometimes - PLACE NEEDS MOAR D/N]. Doesn't help that I ship everything that moves with everything that breathes in it.

03: favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
The whole DMC3 plot makes me wibble. The Jackpot scene. Trish throwing a motorcycle at Dante. "LOOK, IT'S GOT WINGS" Dante getting always whipped by the girls. I SHOULD BE THE ONE TO FILL YOUR DARK SOUL WITH LIIIIIIIIaaaiiIAIIAIAIAIAIAIGHT KEEEREEAAAAAAAAAAYYY. And... man, I go always for the little details.

04: do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
FANFICTION AND FSTS. I haven't bought the CD yet, but I definitely will, and will upload moar when I get my hands on that little jewel.

Letter
Struggle
Edit Piaf on LSD
The Unknown Road « my favorite

These are the must-have's in my opinion, mates, hence the NO CUT. Underneath the cut there there's a huge load of music that I'm not bothering to explain because, c'mon, TOO MANY. Plus Box.net has this lovely asset of letting you listen to the song before you download it, which allows you to take your own conclusions.

Sounds of Guns - Rock leaning towards a little shoegaze and with a northern UK accent. I find them absolutely charming. Slightly reminiscent of the Arctic Monkeys.

Backs of Butterflies
Alcatraz [for jumping on the bed and air-guitaring]
Architects
Dead Sea Scrolls

Bicycle Thieves - Not to be mixed with THE Bicycle Thieves

Red And Black [really powerful guitars on this one]
Galavant
Stop to Start

The Sand Band - Slightly folkish band with calm songs.

A Song for my Love
Every Word
All Just Rolling Stones

The Rascals - Rock out of a 007 movie, if you ask me. Lead singer Miles Kane has a second band, The Last Shadow Puppets, with Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, in which he shares vocals with Turner. I'll post songs from those two bands in another post for bands that people already know [...and if they don't, they SHOULD, shame on yooooou :| ].

Cool tidbit about the name's origin: Although there is an American band with the same name it was unintentionally "copied", Miles tells in several interviews how when the boys were in The Little Flames [previous band they were in] "they were right stoners" and would often be called "you little rascals"

Freakbeat Phantom
Is It Too Late
Bond Girl
Stockingstosuit
I'll Give You Sympathy
Out Of Dreams
Sink the men and drip and
For all you worth
I know your type and I’ve seen you before
Well I'm sure you’ll make me yawn at me
You’ll make me yawn again

Be careful of that mind of yours
And the paths down which it lead you
Well you-u
Don’t have to follow

Keep an eye on the killer
Borrowed from a friend
Cause if he had its ways
Who know where all of this might end

The Grants - Lovely, lovely lovely band, omg, seriously, if it weren't for my unashamed advertisement of a Portuguese band up there [see The Profilers], I'd say these are the must haves here. Here's a critic from The Guardian, calling them the BEST UNSIGNED BAND IN THE WORLD, and wonder if they could be the next Oasis. I agree with some points there, and I could write a point of view, but I have still a lot of songs to upload still. Just know that I envy you people living near Liverpool a lot more than usual since I've known this band.

Ghostlike
The Rules
Eyes Wide Closed
I Am The One
Nothing to Lose
Our Story

The Brothers Movement - Awesome Irish band that gives me the chills, which I can only describe by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club meets Interpol. That, for those who know me, know that this mix means insta-musicgasm. Those who don't know me, well, now you do. They've opened gigs of BRMC and Jesus and the Mary Chain. Have at! :D

Leave Your Body Behind [Live - you can hear the Irish accent when he's thanking the crowd :3]
Sometimes
Nothing Means Anything
Blind

Feedback, broken links, YOUR MUSIC TASTE SUCKS, are alllll appreciated. ♥
Yesterday I spent the night playing Call of Duty 4 with friends and it was ACE. Even if the suckers don't know the real meaning of stealth nor when not to use it, for the chrissake. Ah well.

One day someone once asked me what kind of things made me happy on a day by day basis.

I answered "....geez, I dunno. A lot, but I never gave much thought about it and never listed them."

So this morn I figured out at least one answer for that - going to Chris' garage with Nicola [my band's drummer] and jam

this.

over
and
over
and over

...yeah, I think the smoke we had later was pretty similar to a post-coital one.

Also. Oh man, shiny new layout. uzis ! It looks like Spring :3

Edit: There's something awesome from the fact that your boss and older coworkers actually go "HAVE MORE SANGRIA, KAI, DON'T BE SHY NOW" while we're having dinner in the middle of the FREAKING SHIFT. I usually don't like sweet drinks, but these guys are so homely sometimes [even the one that I call a cunt, what the shit O_o] that I just let myself drink three glasses - along with chugging down some food to water down the taste.

E MÃO DIREITA, MÃO DIREITA É PENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALTY, É PENAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALTY, É PENAAAAAAAAAAAAAALTY!

<strike>...thank fuck I've got the tolerance of a mammoth. </strike>

I promised. I delivered. Have fun, luvs. For the moment you're getting just one, but I've come across so many good stuff lately that I'll probably post again with another share or two. I've been feeling somewhat low, for some reason, so don't be surprised if I have trouble with analogies or somewhat. [Probably the fact that I can't go out to get some SUN yet, OMG SUN *paws at like a Mediterranean thing* ;----;]

Feedback, debates, as always, are appreciated.
♥

Alright, let's start with something that you would call "out of the blue". For you to get why I'm calling it that, well... I'd tell you to just download the songs, listen to them, and then read what is below, but I know you little sillies won't do it or would pretend to do it and then leave a comment of "HEY, I DOWNLOADED THE SONGS FIRST :D" so it's kind of irrelevant.

Thing is.

Fight Like Apes.

I think that the best way to describe this band's style is by naming their EP albums. Titles like "How Am I Supposed To Kill You If You Have All The Guns?" and "David Carradine Is A Bounty Hunter Whose Robotic Arm Hates Your Crotch", and the song "I'm Beginning To Think You Prefer Beverly Hills 90210 To Me" are good examples of how much lack of self-censorship these guys have.

But.

That's the main thing. I love it as much as I love to leave bitemarks on my pencil only to snicker when I realize that someone actually lent it to me and I'll have to give it back in that dented shape [and that coming from me is QUEIT ZEH LOTTE, let me tell you].

Overall their style is crazy, rocky-punkish that sometimes dreads too close from the wannabe barking [...you can't possibly call that singing, right?] of Avril Lavigne, which somehow reminds me of the kind of people who sit on the corner of their seats while watching a suspense scene in a movie and keep going "omg, he's opening the door, the killer is right behind that door, ain't he? he's gonna open it and the killer's gonna get him, isn't it? he's gonna--DON'T OPEN THAT DO--oh, it was nothing, phew".
So yeah, we've got a lot of dangerous tangents there, but it only strikes me as purposely, and somehow, added to the fact that they obviously DON'T GIVE A SHIT, as opposed to Avril's self proclaiming of being the motherfuckin' pwinchess! Liek Ttly! 8D [cue Kai getting herself a sniper rifle], makes it tolerable. Their musical influences include Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Mclusky, Spoon, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Patti Smith, The Apples in Stereo, Elf Power, Built to Spill, My Bloody Valentine, Chapterhouse, Devo, Sonic Youth, Roxy Music and Talking Heads. They supported concerts from bands like The Ting Tings [I want a duet between those two leadsingers NOW] and THE PRODIGY. ....

...see that last band up there? That in itself really just closes the deal, right?

Either way, they're a freaking RIOT and fun to listen to. The songwriting is ACE and crazy and is possibly guaranteed to make you snort or laugh at least once or twice. If you're looking for a band that's the antithesis of the emo that's been tainting the music world, you got your answer right here. I'd advise caution if you are looking for something too deep and meaningful here, but at least it doesn't get to the point of The 5,6,7,8's "Woo Hoo". If you don't like this Dublin quartet....

...yeah, well, YER MUM LIKED IT LAST NITE, AYE?

Something Global »»»» This is the most straightforward song on their latest record, [just out!] Fight Like Apes and the Mystery of the Golden Medallion (named in honor of an obscure Mr. T movie), a deliciously cynical romp about being asked to write a hit song, as Kay sings:
"hooks are for wimps, and choruses for gays/so 'give me my hook' they call out to the stage."

Jake Summers »»»» With a lilty Kim Deal-inspired bassline, its chorus (loosely aimed at a well-known teen soap star of old) is designed to be yelled from the rooftops, but the track itself is so neatly compressed that the effect is almost completely lost.
"You're like Kentucky Fried Chicken but without the taste."

Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues »»»» Cover of a Mclusky song!

Knucklehead

Lend me your Face »»»»
"I'll bust it up but I’ll replace it"

Tie Me Up With Jackets »»»» My favorite, and this post's MUST DOWNLOAD. The lyrics are just amazing and witty and simple all mixed up in a catchy song. Yes
